Product Description

TRITON BG-10 Surfactant is a nonionic surface-active agent that is soluble in water,liquid caustic soda and other highly alkaline solutions.It is an alkylpolyglucoside ?that provides products with a broad range of performance properties.

Applications

Good surface-active properties and a high degree of solubility in built detergent solutions make TRITON BG-10 Surfactant well suited for applications such as bottle washing, metal cleaning, paint stripping, steam cleaning, car washing and other heavy-duty cleaning operations.

Solubility

TRITON BG-10 surfactant, as supplied, ?dissolves rapidly in 50% sodium hydroxide solutions at ambient temperatures if the surfactant is premixed ?with water at a ratio of greater than 2:1 (water:surfactant). At 45°C, TRITON BG-10 dissolves in 50% NaOH solution with a premixing ratio of 1:1.
Concentrations of 5% active surfactant can be obtained ?at both conditions.

Foam

Foam characteristics vary with temperature and the concentration of surfactant. Under many conditions of use, TRITON BG-10 Surfactant produces ?moderate to high levels of foam. An increase of temperature or alkalinity or a decrease in surfactant concentration decreases?foam height. The relationship of foam height to surfactant concentration is illustrated in Table 1.

Surface Tension

Table 2 shows that TRITON BG-10 Surfactant is very effective at lowering the surface tension of aqueous ?solutions.

Draves Wetting

The Draves wetting test data presented in Table 3 show TRITON BG-10 Surfactant to be an efficient wetting agent.
